Dr. Susan Lim is a surgeon

Dr. Susan Lim is based out of Singapore. She is a surgeon who is widely known in the country and who is a product of the country’s institution’s. Dr. Susan Lim went to The Singapore Chinese Girls School and then to The Raffles Institution. After that, Dr. Susan Lim went to medical school at Monash University in Australia. She was able to do this because she received a scholarship under the auspices of the Colombo Plan in 1974. Dr. Susan Lim is today trying to extend those same educational opportunities to underprivileged children in the South-Pacific region. She does this through a charity she helped to found, along with her husband and a mutual friend, called the Indiapore Trust.

Dr. Susan Lim is a well regarded surgeon who works in Singapore. She is well known there because she was the first person in Asia to successfully perform a liver transplant. In 1990 she achieved that task and in 2003 she founded a biotechnology company called Stem Cell Technologies. One year later, Dr. Susan Lim joined Trinity College at the University of Melbourne as a fellow.

Dr. Susan Lim, her husband, and a mutual friend of theirs also established a charity called the Indiapore Trust. This charity’s purpose is to help underprivileged children from the South-Pacific Asian region by providing educational opportunities they would not otherwise have.

Dr. Susan Lim Is A Highly Qualified Surgeon

Based in Singapore, Dr. Susan Lim is a highly qualified surgeon who was the first individual to successfully perform a liver transplant on the continent of Asia. She accomplished that feat in 1990. Dr. Lim was raised in Singapore after being born there and she attended the Singapore Chinese Girls’ School, and then The Raffles Institution. She received a scholarship under the Colombo Plan in 1974 and utilized that scholarship to attend Monash University in Australia, where she studied medicine.

Dr. Susan Lim started a biotechnology company called Stem Cell Technologies in 2003. By 2004, she had joined Trinity College at the University of Melbourne in Australia as a Fellow. It was Susan Lim, her husband, and a friend who first established the Indiapore Trust, which is a charity aimed at aiding underprivileged children from the region. The Raffle Junior College received a free science laboratory from the Indiapore Trust. The Indiapore Trust has also provided many scholarships to children in India and Singapore.

Additionally, Dr. Susan Lim is a member of the Global Advisory Council of the International Society for Stem Cell Research 2011. Dr. Susan Lim works mainly at two of Singapore’s most respected hospitals—Gleneagles and Mount Elizabeth.
